Case studies

HRPlus and JobPlus

SEO triage across two HR service brands after sitemap and search-intent questions.

HRPlus and JobPlus needed practical SEO advice around indexing, sitemap submission, domain changes, backlink risk, and why a narrow ranking does not automatically translate into a broader competitive keyword.

HRPlus sitemap

17 page URLs, 6 post URLs

Yoast-generated sitemap surfaces service pages, posts, categories, tags, and author URLs.

JobPlus sitemap

14 page URLs, 11 post URLs

Yoast-generated sitemap includes recruitment, EOR, payroll, staffing, and Employment Pass URLs.

Technical baseline

Both sites crawlable

Public checks returned 200 responses, robots files with no disallow rules, and Yoast schema on both homepages.

Claim discipline

No growth claim yet

This case study records advisory and triage work, not traffic, ranking, or lead-generation outcomes.

Evidence from public crawl checks and the advisory transcript. Ranking, traffic, and lead outcomes should only be added after a Google Search Console evidence pass.

The challenge

The client had several SEO questions at once, but they belonged to different layers.

Indexing status, sitemap submission, IndexNow, backlink packages, old domain equity, and keyword difficulty can easily get mixed together. The useful work was to separate technical visibility from content strategy and risky off-page shortcuts.

What the public sites show

HRPlus

A Singapore HR outsourcing brand covering HR support, payroll, work-pass support, and talent services.

JobPlus

A Singapore employment agency and workforce-solutions brand with recruitment, EOR, payroll, HR consultancy, and work-pass content.

The work

Instavar helped turn a scattered SEO concern into a clearer diagnostic map.

Indexing diagnosis

Checked sitemap URLs and page-level indexing state in Google Search Console instead of assuming the whole site was blocked.

Sitemap and plugin interpretation

Separated Yoast sitemap visibility from IndexNow behavior, including the constraint that Google does not use IndexNow.

Content cleanup guidance

Flagged low-value WordPress clutter such as sample, home, and demo pages that could distract from commercial pages.

Search-intent mapping

Separated narrow queries such as Employment Pass status from broader, more competitive queries such as Singapore Employment Pass.

Backlink risk advisory

Challenged low-cost backlink packages where the promised volume, relevance, and timeframe did not look credible.

Evidence-tiered claims

Kept public case-study claims tied to visible technical work until GSC data can support ranking or traffic improvements.

What this proves

The strongest proof is judgment under uncertainty.

This is not yet a performance case study. It is a consultancy case study: diagnose the right layer, prevent avoidable SEO mistakes, and explain the gap between a ranking query and the broader commercial query the business wants to win.

Indexing needs URL-level evidence.

A Search Console screen or sitemap warning can look alarming, but the useful question is which exact URLs are excluded and whether those URLs deserve indexation.

A broader keyword usually needs a broader page.

A page that answers how to check Employment Pass status is not the same asset as a complete Singapore Employment Pass guide.

Cheap backlink volume can create more risk than leverage.

For local professional-service sites, relevance, editorial context, and trust matter more than fast backlink counts.
